Allbirds “SUPERNATURAL INNOVATION” CAMPAIGN

The assignment: Tell an irreverent, 360 degree, full-funnel ad campaign about what makes Allbirds so unique. We simplified the message to “Better than Natural footwear…it’s Super Natural!” Here are the :15 and :30 spots. An entire campaign backed this, with assets for all channels, from social to web to retail.

The assignment: Allbirds makes golf shoes? Um, yes. And they are just about the most comfy & sustainable shoes ever! We shot this one with Pro Golfer, Will Lowry down in SoCal.


COLUMBIA SPORTSWEAR PEAKFREAK II “SO FREAKY” CAMPAIGN

The assignment: Tell a fun story about new footwear with traction as it’s strong suit. So we thought, what has the best traction in nature? Duh, snails.

COLUMBIA SPORTSWEAR Newton Ridge “Built to roam” CAMPAIGN

This spot answered the question, “What do you do in this boot?” We called film maker, Dustin Humphrey to give his “through the lens” POV

Through the lens is a video short that gives the viewer a behind the scenes look at the 3-day shoot that’s was to become the Newton Ridge “Built to Roam” campaign. From the city streets of Portland, to Oregon’s coast lines, ending at the Columbia HQ photo studios, this story will be told visually through red footage, still photographs, and BTS iPhone footage.

Nearly 170 years after Henry David Thoreau trekked the outer rim of Cape Cod, KEEN Ambassador and New Englander Meg Haywood Sullivan is retracing his steps to rediscover the place that raised her. Together with friend and filmmaker Nicole Gormley, she hikes 30 miles from Nausett Beach to Race Point to escape the modern world, write poetry, and see how much this spit of sand has changed.

In the spirit of fun and camaraderie inherent to skateboarding, is a national shop vs. shop contest circuit broken into 5 regional stops, culminating in a massive. It was a long, arduous road to the top with over 100 shops entering, but there can only be one winner.

adidas Skate Copa (SS 2014)

2014 was a World Cup year and adidas, as a sponsor of the event, integrated soccer into many facets of the brand. In Skateboarding, this meant launching a global campaign to promote our jersey and footwear collection. We partnered with board brand companies and launched our largest campaign of the year, culminating with a retail skate competition, awarding skaters and shops with the inaugural Copa Cup trophy.

In 2014, adidas Originals celebrated the anniversary of the most classic Tennis shoe of all time, The Stan Smith. adidas Skateboarding designed a special, skate-specific version of the shoe and who better to promote the collection than fabled tennis/skater and legend himself, Stan Smith.

Season two for adidas Snowboarding was a time to take the "Welcome_________" approach from the first season and develop it into a more diverse and layered campaign. We shot in Japan, backcountry BC, and Trans-Siberia to gather content for a season of promotion based on our film series, ads, retail tools, PR and stickers for snowboards.

Mark Gonzales has been a member of the adidas Skateboarding family inspiring, developing and nurturing the skateboarding program for 15 years. It is with great honor that we celebrate Gonz, not only for these past 15 years of adventure, but for having such an impact on our lives and making skateboarding what it is today.

Celebrating 15 years with adidas, we chose to go big with legendary artist and skater, Mark Gonzales. We reached out to six photographers who have worked with Gonz over the years, curating shows in LA, NYC, Berlin, London and Melbourne. A long-form "gonzumentary" was produced and along with retail marketing shop take-over's, and a PR onslaught, we launched the collection promoting this signature footwear collection.
